The best devices for UGFTV
UGFTV runs best on Google TV and Android TV boxes. Here’s what we recommend, plus a few extras that can help your home setup.
ONN Google TV 4K Streaming Box
Simple, fast, and the easiest way to get UGFTV on your TV. It’s the device we recommend to every new customer.
- Google TV with the Play Store, so you can install the UGFTV app in a few minutes
- 4K with Dolby Vision, plus a voice remote
- Sold at Walmart stores and walmart.com, and by independent sellers on Amazon
💡 Walmart often has ONN boxes cheaper, especially in stores. On Amazon they come from independent sellers, so compare the price before you buy.

All of these run Google TV or Android TV and can install the UGFTV app the same way as the ONN. Stock changes often, so check the listing before you buy.
Google TV Streamer 4K
Google’s own box. Fast, roomy (32 GB) and has a wired internet port built in.
- Needs an HDMI cable (not included). See Extras below.
Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen)
A small, low-cost Google TV box with Wi-Fi 6 and 32 GB of space for apps.
- Sold by a third-party seller on Amazon
NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro
The power-user favorite. Very fast, wired internet port, 2 USB ports. It costs a lot more than the ONN, so it’s only worth it if you want the best.
- Often low on stock. Check the listing.
Internet speed matters
Live TV and sports stream in real time, so your home internet makes a big difference. UGFTV can’t control your internet provider or home Wi-Fi, so please check your speed before you buy.
- Recommended: 50 Mbps or faster for each TV watching at the same time.
- Minimum: 25 Mbps, with nothing else heavy running (big downloads, video calls, online gaming).
- Test it the right way: run a free speed test on the TV box itself, near the time you usually watch. Phone results can look faster than what your TV actually gets.
- Best connection: plug the box into your router with an internet cable, or keep it close to the router.
Video games, downloads and other streaming in the house all share the same internet. If your speed is below the minimum, contact your internet provider about a faster plan.
Helpful extras
Optional add-ons for your home setup. They can help with Wi-Fi coverage and wiring, but they can’t make a slow internet plan faster.
TP-Link RE315 Wi-Fi Extender
Plugs into a wall outlet between your router and TV to extend Wi-Fi coverage. It also has a port so you can run a short cable to your box.
TP-Link Deco X55 Mesh Wi-Fi (3-pack)
Spreads your router’s Wi-Fi across more rooms. Best for bigger homes or TVs far from the router.
UGREEN Micro USB Ethernet Adapter
Lets the ONN 4K box (non-Pro) use a wired internet cable, which is the most reliable connection. Comes with its own power cord.
- Not needed for the ONN 4K Pro, Google TV Streamer or SHIELD. They have a wired port built in.
UGREEN HDMI Extension Cable (1.5 ft)
Wall-mounted TV or HDMI port hard to reach? This short extension gives your box room and can help the remote reach it.
Amazon Basics 4K HDMI Cable (6 ft)
The Google TV Streamer doesn’t come with an HDMI cable. This one works with it and any 4K TV.
What to skip
- Amazon Fire TV Stick: older models usually still work, but newer ones may have trouble with our app. Not recommended if you’re buying something new.
- Roku: there’s no UGFTV app for Roku. Roku users can watch in a web browser on a phone, tablet or computer at watch.ugftv.com.
- Apple TV: no app. iPhone, iPad and Mac users can watch in a web browser at watch.ugftv.com.
- “Fully loaded” or no-name Android boxes: skip them. Stick with the brands on this page.
