How to Install UGFTV on Amazon Firestick

Newer Fire TV warning: some newer Fire TV models (such as the 2025 Fire TV Stick 4K Select) run Amazon’s new Vega OS, which doesn’t allow apps from outside the Amazon Appstore, so UGFTV may not install on them. These steps are for older Fire TV models that run Fire OS. For a new device, we recommend the ONN Google TV 4K (see Recommended Devices) and our ONN setup guide.

Step 1: Allow app installs

  1. 1Open Developer Options

    From the home screen, open Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options.

  2. 2No Developer Options?

    Open My Fire TV > About and select your Fire TV device name 7 times. Then go back to My Fire TV.

  3. 3Turn it on

    Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources (on some models: Install unknown apps > Downloader).

Step 2: Install UGFTV

  1. 1Get Downloader

    Press Home, select Search, search for Downloader, then install and open it.

  2. 2Enter app.ugftv.com

    In Downloader, type app.ugftv.com and select Go.

  3. 3Install

    When the download finishes, select Install, then Open.

  4. 4Sign in

    Enter the UGFTV username and password from your welcome email.

Internet speed

Internet speed: what you need

  • 50 Mbps per TV streaming at the same time is recommended.
  • 25 Mbps per TV is the minimum.
  • Run a speed test on the TV or a phone standing next to it, not across the house.
  • A Wi-Fi extender or mesh system only helps the signal reach farther. It never makes slow internet faster. If the speed test is low next to your router, contact your internet provider.
  • An Ethernet cable from the router to the box (with an adapter, if your box has no Ethernet port) usually gives the steadiest connection.

UGFTV doesn’t control or repair home internet or Wi-Fi. Your internet provider handles that.

Troubleshooting

  • Install blocked: make sure Apps from Unknown Sources (or Install unknown apps for Downloader) is on.
  • Downloader isn’t in the Appstore or the setting is missing: your Fire TV may run Vega OS. Switch to an ONN Google TV 4K.
  • Login rejected: type it exactly as in your welcome email, or email support@ugftv.com.
  • Use the free 3-day trial (no credit card) to check your device before buying. Paid plans are prepaid for a set length and don’t renew automatically.
